That would be Splash (1984) with the lovely Darryl Hannah (before remodelling) and the wonderful John Candy.
It certainly wasn't Mazes and Monsters (1982) that was a shocker!

That would have to be Big. A movie full of heart and Hanks is such a kid in it. I loved it when it first came out and I still enjoy it!

I think Splash was the first hit. He did a crappy one about a bachelor party earlier and the another where he was in the Peace Corps, also crappy but he met his wife in that one.

Man all of you are stupid. the Movie that started(really showed he could be a lead actor, as bad as it was) Bachelor Party, but bossom buddies was his big break.
