BNC : Bayonet Neill-Concelman. A cable connector used extensively in television and named for its inventor. A cylindrical bayonet connector that operates with a twist-locking motion. To make the connection, align the two curved grooves in the collar of the male connector with the two projections on the outside of the female collar, push and twist. This allows the connector to lock into place without the need for tools RGA: The approval of a customer product return for credit, rework or repair that normally has a unique identifier, specifies the products involved and sometimes the original shipment information, and serves as the authorization for processing at the receiving location. CDRW: Stands for CD ReWritable. Rewritable CD allows data to be erased and write again several times USB: Universal Serial Bus: a protocol for transferring data to and from digital devices. Many digital cameras and memory card readers connect to the USB port on a computer. USB card readers are typically faster than cameras or readers that connect to the serial port, but slower than those that connect via FireWire.

Developed in the late 1940’s as a miniature version of the Type C connector, BNC stands for Bayonet Neill Concelman and is named after Amphenol engineer Carl Concelman. The BNC product line is a miniature quick connect/disconnect RF connector. It features two bayonet lugs on the female connector; mating is achieved with only a quarter turn of the coupling nut. BNC’s are ideally suited for cable termination for miniature to subminiature coaxial cable (RG-58, 59, to RG-179, RG-316, etc.)

Since you are asking this in the Computer N/W-ing section, I presume you mean the BNC Connector. The acronym stands for Bayonet Neill-Concelman.
The connector is named after its bayonet mount locking mechanism and its two inventors, Paul Neill of Bell Labs and Amphenol engineer Carl Concelman .
