i am pretty sure babies need to be on formula or breast milk til they are at least a year old. As far as where to go after that. I just read an article in American Baby that said that if you are going to give your baby cows milk to go with 2%. They discussed the hormones in cows milk and how it was bad. As far as soy goes it said that pesticides build up in fat and that soy has a lot of fat in it. So it concluded that if your child is a milk drinker or is a soy drinker to go organic.

It's not that milk has bad stuff in it- well, organic milk any ways... but it is the effect on our bodies.
Commercial milks are from cows that are not fed grass and are given growth hormones and other things - that intern comes out in their milk.
Milk is one of the top food allergens. It also is thought to be a catalyst to diabetes.
Soy milk should not be a main source of nutrition either if at all because of the natural estrogen in it, that is why soy feed babies have problems.
Actually Goats Milk is a very good alternative, there it is easier to digest so it's not easy to develop an allergy to it.
Also Unsweetened Almond Milk- my personal fav.
Might I add that doctors are not trained in nutrition like an N.D or a nutritionist- they have no more info on cows milk than we do

It should be done at age one. Introduce gradually. Serve it the same way you have been feeding her..hot or cold, same type of bottle or cup. On the first day start with 1/4 milk, 3/4 formula. If she doesn't like that, reduce to less milk-more formula. If she has no problems, do that for 2 days then increase to 1/2 and 1/2 for two days; then to 3/4 milk, 1/4 formula for two days. Then finally on the 7th day you should be able to offer all milk. I have four older children and this worked for all of them.

you should talk to your doctor and do what they say but my doctor said only whole milk... you can get organic whole milk which is the same thing it just doesn't have any of the growth hormones and antibiotics that were given to the cows who gave the milk

check with your pediatrician...they usually prefer the whole milk for children until a certain age as they need everything in that milk for proper growth...
