I’m going to start taking zactin soon and I’m very, very worried I’ll start gaining weight. My doctor said I WON’T gain and the fact sheet says weight loss is a possible side affect but nothing about weight gain, but I’m still a bit skeptical about it. Everyone seems to have gained weight taking anti depressants.
Please help!!!

Anytime you take an antidepression medicine you have that possible side effect of gaining some weight. But not all, so this medicine might be different than the older ones. Also some medicines will cause you to lose your appetite plus at first maybe even sick to your stomach. As long as you are aware of this you can control how much you eat yourself. Some of the meds calm people so they can eat without problems. Usually it is the makeup of the person's body. If this medicine will help with depression I wouldn't worry about any weight gain.
