my dad and I like to play our own version of D&D (becasue of issues with the content of D&D) and I was wondering what are some cool races that people have invented.
also, whats a good way to make the game more fun? I'm the GM and its hard to get him to play this game over WoW.

D&D is so open-ended that implenting your own rules is necessary. Enjoy! The standard player character races such as human, elf, dwarf, halfling, and gnome are cool to work with and are "demi-human". Some book supplements allow monster rules so you could role up a "humanoid" such as a hobgoblin who learned to have an intelligence score and maybe good will, something like that. Maybe your campaign should focus on the "race thing" as the main issue in your gaming.

Make the story line count.

Check out the Wizards of the Coast site and ENWorld.org to read more on it.

Pick up a supplement called Arcanis by Paradigm Concepts. It adds some Roman flair to your D&D world. Great stuff!
