had first ultrasound yesterday and embyro looks small but in regards to my opk i ovulated 19th day of cycle so that makes me 5 weeks something. doctor happier with those dates. couldnt be sure of a faint heartbeat but has given me cyclogest and wants me to go back in a week. should i worry??

Not at all.... it is VERY common for even a vaginal ultrasound to not be able to get a great heart-rate at 5 to 6 weeks. Your doctor knows this . In the early stages of your pregnancy fetal development is measured in days , not weeks like later on....so , having a follow up in even as little as a few days can make a MONSTER difference sonographically. Waiting close to a a full week should almost all but assure your OB/GYN that he or she will get the results needed.

I remember at 5 weeks in ALL my pregnancies it was difficult to get a heartbeat. I dont remember getting a heartbeat until about 7 weeks.
I know this will be the longest week of your life, so try to be as gentle as possible on yourself. Hopefully there will a lovely strong heartbeat.

no, your OB probably just wants to get a better image of the baby and hear its heartbeat to make sure that the baby is developing the way its suppose to.

I wouldn't worry most people when they find out that they are pregnant don't even see the doc til they are at least 12wks.You will be fine and so will baby.CONGRATS!!

Should you worry? Sounds to me like you are about 7.2 miles PAST worry!

...I haven't heard that much math in years....
