Your line of reason does not follow, neither in the logical 'or' spiritual domain...but your question is honest and sincere.
Your line of inquiry, however, pivots on Israel's plight as one that is justified because it is a supposed democracy. On that alone your argument falls.
To have a democracy is but a state of being of a given group or nation, an apt model to employ in some instances but not so in others.
If "we" render support to anyone, it must be because he or she or it is just, balanced, and stands on the poles of truth.
Israel does not and has not evidenced any of these...nor will it till such time as it as would any nation, humbles itself lest it be made humble by causation or gravity of its own behaviors, which indications have been mean and glib at best...

Why just be supportive..... we should learn from Israel...as a nation they are an epitome of perseverance.
