I have had some good comments, but sometimes I feel I am getting odd looks. I am 5ft 8" in good shape. I keep my socks up and straight, buisness shirt is always neatly tucked. I don't wear loud colors, grey and navy shorts with various shades of long grey socks. Always with black lace up shoes. My wife says I look neatly presented, my brother in law recently said "Are you forced to wear that?" Another friend said I was lucky to be able to wear shorts to work, he wished he could. Mixed comments bring me to ask this.

I work in an office as well. I would love to wear shorts and long socks. I don't have the courage. I think you should wear what you like. A pair of nice grey tailored shorts and long sock would look great for work. If you let your socks slip down though, I think it would ruin the look. Keep it up and take the good comments with the bad.

i'm about your age, and if i'd be frank with you ... ? Neither black lace-up shoes nor knee-severe socks of any colour look reliable with shorts ... until eventually you're a mailman, an consumer-friendly college pupil, playing softball, or wearing another uniform. Shorts look more suitable positive with low or no socks, and sandals or slip-on deck shoes. having stated that, how could I view it? Meh, i does no longer care too a lot. the first time or 2 i'd internally strengthen an eyebrow yet after that I likely does no longer even note it anymore and that i could be more suitable likely to pay interest on different, more suitable significant concerns ... alongside with, in case you do your activity properly at artwork and are ordinary to get alongside with. besides, i'm no trend plate myself and that i do not truly care too a lot if someone would not like what i'm wearing. I gown to thrill myself, it truly is between the freedoms we've earned at our age!

i think its a personal preference. i will say though- i probably would not wear the socks up to mid thighs or knees- i am 32- female- my father is 60 and just a few years back my sister and i got him to quit doing that look- we felt like it aged him. it all depends on exactly what u are putting together in the look. i realize u r trying to stay professional in your work environment. i am just not sure without a visual. i will be curious to see what others may say. good luck in your findings :)

I think short are just not ment for the office. You may look neat but you might not be appealing to your work colleagues. A tailored suit would be much more better than tailored shorts( how do you even walk around the office in tailored shorts, THEY ARE JUST A NO NO!!)

Everything sounds good except for the socks. How about a closed toe sandal instead?

you sound neatly presentable indeed but you also sound like a fashion mishap or a nerd, geek. which is bad b/c you care about how you look. so here loss the shorts as hard as that may be, at least until after work. dress shorts are a no no

wearing shorts to work seems really not professional. and long socks that are pulled up? are you a soccer player? if not then i suggest keeping the socks down when you're wearing shorts.

People view this as hilarious! This is not a preference, but something that you shouldn't do past age 10 or unless you are in a punk rock band.
This will affect how your bosses think about you.
