I planning to attend RN program. Now I'm in the prerequisite courses. It will take one and a half year. After my prerequisite courses, I'll ready to be in the nursing program but my college have waiting program for all students in nursing area. As I'm international student, I would have problem if I'm not a full time student. The waiting lists normally take two years, so these two whole years going to be waste for me. How do I do if I don't want to be in the waiting program? Can somebody give me some advice like should I change my major or change to the other college after my prerequisite courses in this college. How do I change to the other college?

my school is not admitting for the nursing program till 2009...so i feel you all the way. I am just gonna finish my AS then transfer to a 4 year school and get my BSN instead of waiting. That maybe your best option.

try and apply at a different school. not all of them have a waiting list. if you cannot, get a job as a tech, that way you will still be doing a job related to nursing while you wait. a lot of hospitals have ways of getting you in quicker. the schools usually have spots available to hospital employees, and most hospitals will pay for your schooling if you sign a contract with them. good luck.

Since there is such a shortage of nurses apply somewhere else. Some nursing school should snatch you up.
