Earthquakes and tsunamis. Here's a good example for you: The tsunami that hit Indonesia in 2004 was started by an undersea earthquake at a subduction zone. The quake caused the land to shift creating a tsunami that affected the whole Indian Ocean. Bonus: the same kind of subduction zone is off the coast of Washington and Oregon.

Subduction zones are the cause of deep seated earthquakes and volcanoes. Earthquakes and/or movement will result in tsunamis such as the one that hit SE Asia.
