This question is only for School Kids (Others: please don't reply! Thanks)

Please answer the following also, if you have the time and some experience to share:

What attempts have you or your parents made to make you like math? Did these attempts succeed or fail? In either case, can you please share your experience?

Any idea, what other alternative attempt may succeed better?

I don't want to ruin your survey but I'm very interested in your topic. I'm not necesarily a kid but I'm still in school and I love math--it is my major. Out of the 3 children, I'm the only one who likes math in my family. I don't recall my parents making any specific effort to make me or any of my sibblings like math more than any other subject in school.

I think it is related to some personality traits. I'm also very interested in finding out if the "love" for math can actually be induced since I'm planning to become a teacher. One of my calculus teachers used to say that people fail in math because they're affraid of failure itself. Math is a subject of trial and error, you attempt to solve a problem untill you get the right answer. Most people get discouraged on the first attempt because failure does hurt.

What I do remember, is my 3rd grade class. The teacher there had a sort of competitive way to conduct the class, that's when my love for math started.

I hope I didn't ruin your survey too much and I hope I helped a little. I'd like very much to stay in touch with you.
