it's just a charge. a *different* charge that nutralizes a protron's charge.

the charge is dependant on the number of certain types of quarks. two ups or an up and a down quark, for example. that's what actually determines if the charge is an electron or a protron.

the charges have kept those names to make it easier than calling it by the number and type of quarks it is
