I've been seeing this guy for a little while now. He took me out to dinner and i've hung out with him a few times at our friends house but i've known him for a while. During this he never pulled a move. Not even a kiss. I think he's shy. I don't normally date but i don't want to be sleeping around occasionally with different guys for no actual romantic reason and besides theres something about this guy that I really like. By I don't normally date I mean this would be my first actual relationship besides a guy a date for a month that i dated after I had sex with at a party. I didn't make a move because I don't want things to go to fast because I don't want to be like I used to be but I feel like i want to with him and for more meaningful reasons. What should I do and how long do people normally wait to have sex with a guy there going to be getting into a relationship with.

for me, when the feeling is right.
when he proves the sincerity in having u.
make him wait. act like a prize for him to win.
then he will treasure u more, because its not easy to get u.
he should desire u, not accept u.
hope he is a nice guy. good luck =)

Yeah, well nobody waits till marriage anymore, but if you do I give you props. I would say let it go in stages. You start out just holding hands, then a couple days later a kiss, then you move on up until you have found out enough about him and you two are comfortable enough with each other that it will automatically fall into sex. I would say sex should happen in about 6 months or less or more, depending on how fast you two go, there really is no limit, except one piece of advice that I know to be true is the longer you make him wait to have sex, the longer the relationship lasts in the end. Guys love the hunt, or the chase so give him that hunt or that chase. Make him wait awhile.

FIRST: i ask this question to myself ALL the time.

Second: I never knew how many morons there are until I read the majority of the post to this question and others.

My answer: it dpeends. if you are asking yourself this Q then you probably want to---if you WANT IT, then DO IT!
I am in same position...often.
some women say that after you sex a guy, then he wont respect you-------naw...they probably suck at sex.

and if he isnt kissing/making moves, he is probably nervous/same fears as you...

just never reveal how many ppl you sleep with...as it will make a man uncomfortable.

LAST IMPORTANT POINT: SEX ISNT THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL OR SOMETHING TO BE SAVED!! I am not saying screw everyone but there is no reason that if 2 ppl consent...it should be PART of their relationship (like emotion and intellectual and spiritual bs) not a reward....thats just idiotic....(thats right i am talking to you all those wait till marriage people) because that is the kind of thinking that is destorying AMERICA!!!

You know you are ready for sex when both you and your partner are financially, emotionally, mentally, and pysically, ready to raise a child in a loving home, and spend the rest of your lives together.

No matter how "careful" you are, sex may result in pregnancy.

To be fair to your potential child, you should wait until you and your partner are really ready. Children with two loving and mature parents turn out much better, and every child deserves that.

Till marriage.

I don't know if you're a virgin or not.
But this is how I feel about it ...

You should stay a virgin till you're married.
God intended it to be that way.
But many, MANY people abuse that.
And God looks down on those people.

You don't just give your virginity to just anybody.
It is the best present you can give your future husband.
It is you... it is all of you.

If you become pregnant, you can handle it better when you're married.
You'll have that person beside you who promised to always be by your side.
It won't be some random guy or some guy who you THOUGHT loved you.

Sex makes many things complicated in an unmarried relationship.
It takes two very mature people.
You do not want to get yourself lost in everything that comes with sex.
Most people nowadays tend to just BASE their relationship on sex.

I am a virgin. I have a boyfriend of a little over a year that I am completely in love with. We talk about marriage and how I want to wait till our wedding day to have sex. He truly does love me... he respects me. That's when you KNOW you have a great guy. That's when you KNOW he's in love with you... when he has absolutely no problem in waiting. Actions speak louder than words...

How long I wait has a lot do if I am looking for something "casual" or I realy like her.

On the plus side ... you can't say all he wants is sex! He probably realy likes you and doen't want to scare you off.

Drop some hints... flirt.

my buddy kate is in an particularly similar project. she and this guy iain, were seeing eachother for the previous 2 weeks. she thinks she is able to have sex with him yet i imagine she could wait. its truly trashy to have sex interior the first few months of courting someone. save IT on your PANTS!

Until both parties are perfectly comfortable with it. If you're not mature enough to talk to each other about it, you're not comfortable nor mature enough (in the relationship...not calling you immature) to do it.

If you can wait till you get married. That is the most ideal.

As long as it takes me to pull down my pants and boxers. I'm horny too.
