I attended a seminar on sexual harrasment in the workplace and the first thing the lady said to the other ladies was to dress right for work. She said" you are in a work environment not a night club so leave the high heals and low cut dresses at home, and no mini or short skirts" she said that women should dress like the own the place and demand respect from the men..also no harmless flirting..all sexual jokes and pranks should be reserved to another time and place and not in the work place.and also alot of perfume companies are testing pheremones in their mix so stay away from expensive perfumes and if you can wear as little make-up as possible..it's sounds like alot for a woman to sacrifice when a man just has to watch what he says and does..but i guess that's just a part of women finally getting the respect they deserve in the work place..

Women should act and dress professionally at work. Dressing provocative and acting flirtatious is not appropriate in thee work place. Women and men should remember that their job is a work environment not a nightclub.

There are cases where even on their best and most professional behavior an employee still gets hit on by a coworker or employer. In such cases that person should first bring it the perpetrator attention to explain their discomfort and ask them to stop. If the perpetrator continues then the victom should make a complaint to their company's ethics cdepartment or ommittee.

Be courageous at work place. Create a feeling among the collegues that you will not tolerate an indecent attitude or behaviour of anybody at work place. If the superiors are having an eye on you, whisper in his ears that you will expose him to others. Dress up in a decent way and coverup all those parts which would attract others. Your behaviour at work place and your actions are responsible for your rating in your office. If you are keeping your dignity and distance nobody would dare to harass you in any manner. In every concern now there is a commission set up under the instructions given by the Hon'ble Supreme Court to get the grievances of working women redressed who is being sexually harassed. If the working woman feels that by a look or by some action of her colleague, she feels that she is being harassed sexually, she can im,mediately report the matter to the concerned officers or to the women's police station nearby.

Here should be the sum of your interactions with female co-workers:

Good morning.
Good evening.

That's it. Anymore and you're asking for it.

However, you're still not 100% safe. If a woman wants to make your life miserable, all she needs to do is accuse. You could have done something, something less serious than what she says, or even nothing at all, and your *** could still be in the fryer. Your only defense is to limit your interactions with female co-workers and to document ANYTHING that seems suspicious.

Stay safe.

Men:

A charge of sexual harrassement, even if not proven, can ruin your career. HR reports to me at my company. I have seen it happen.

These rules, if followed, will keep you out of trouble:

#1 - Do NOT EVER touch a female coworker. Not on the hand, not on the shoulder, NOWHERE. Ever. Period.

#2 - NEVER tell a joke in the presence of a female. (Even the most innocent statements can be misunderstood by a bystander.)

#3 - If you are romantically interested in a co-worker, quit and find another job before even hinting at it.

#4 - NEVER go out socially with a female co-worker (there're plenty of non-coworker women to chose from). The familiarity this breeds could affect your behavior towards her in the office (or vice-versa) - leaving you open to a charge of harrassment. (I've seen this happen.)

#5 - Focus on doing your job and not socializing at work with females.

Might seem extreme, but you've got to protect yourself in today's litigious society.

To a great extent, they themselves are responsible for giving answers or responding to unnecessary enjoyments. Secondly, don't try to be over-smart and alone. Get always a company of one person unless surroundings are perfectly alright.

don't say anything to them, and for god's sake, don't ask them out.

If you just HAVE to goose them, use a robotic arm, and blame it on the copy machine.
