Eric Chavez (ranked 114)/Jason Schmidt (117) for my Troy Glaus (48)/ Eric Gagne (138)

Keep in mind, I also picked up Octavio Dotel, Kerry Wood and Joel Pineiro plus Joe Nathan that I had...so my closers may be in good shape. Is this a good deal? Schmidt could complement Schilling, Pedro and Randy Johnson (if that works out)

I counter offered Bill Hall/Gagne for Schmidt/Chavez

Bill Hall is ranked higher than Glaus but experts are saying Hall strikes out a ton so he has to be on the decline. Hopefully my opponent bites on this deal.

The original trade is interesting. I'm not sure what to expect from Eric Chavez this year. I think you should do it though; you don't know what you'll get from Gagne either so it's a risk for both of you guys. You'll be getting Jason Schmidt and I think in LA, he'll be solid.

I would take the trade. Glaus and Gagne are both injury prone and Chavez is still capable of hitting 30 homers/100RBI and Schmidt may be good for 15 wins/180K's. I would work on that suspect bullpen you got though. Dotel isnt going to get many save opportunities, Wood is in a set up roll and would most likely platoon through out the year if he does get to close and Pineiro is a set up man....Saves are going to be hard to come by with those guys.

First, Rankings mean nothing once the Draft is over. And honestly, rankings dont mean much before the draft either. They are only opinions/predictions, and are wrong EVERY year. That being said, no i wouldnt do it. Glaus led all 3b's in hr's last year. Gagne is an injury risk so trading him for schimdt would be good. otherwise just go get otsuka and keep what you have. BTW Pedro wont be much help and Unit is already sore so you really nedd some sp's. See if Brad Penny is available.

I would take that deal. Glaus and Gagne are both injury prone. Chavez had an off year last year so his ranking is underrated and Schmidt will have better stats pitching in LA.

Do it now!!!!

Gagne is a huge risk and Glaus is a shadow of himself. Chavez is still a huge threat at third base and Schmidt is a blue chip pitcher who is now pitching in a pitchers park in a division full of weak pitching.

You are loaded otherwise....Bill Hall is great (I had him last year) and he qualifies everywhere. Also Nathan (who I also have) is the second best reliever in the league.

You would be a moron if you passed this trade up.

If Joel Pineiro does close, then its a ok deal. If he loses the job, i would drop the trade. REMEMBER: Glaus also qualifies for SS for when yours have an injury or off day.

Don't give him Glaus, he will have ss eligibility this year and hits the long ball with the best of them.
