I self-published a non-fiction, business reference book one year ago. The book has not been promoted at all and is currently selling about 25 - 30 copies per month. I believe it does have potential to generate significantly greater demand if properly marketed. I would like to find someone to market it for me to secure new distribution channels and shelf space in bookstores. What are the best ways to pursue this or identify someone to do it?

My advice is to get a Literary Agent, their job is to do what you asked, to sell your book. They will take it to publishers and sell your books to different booksellers. They are your personal advertiser.

Check out these links,

or search of Google.
Always remember when looking for one is that you never pay for a Literary Agen until they do their job.

Goodluck, ;)

It takes a LOT. If you don't want an agent, I suggest starting at a site which supports self-publishing like lulu.com. There are far too many options and variables to list herein, but that will get you started.
