I think the Yankees will win the World Series. It doesn't matter who we play. I would like to see the Yankees play the Cubs.

First, you have to look at who will be in the playoffs.
In the AL, you've got Boston, Detroit, and the Angels. Your Wild card is either the Yankees or the Indians.
In the NL, you've got the Phillies, the Astros and the Dodgers with the Wild Card being either the Braves, the Brewers or the Padres.
From that, either Houston or Philly go from the NL, and either the Red Sox or Tigers from the AL.
I'd go with Houston and the Red Sox, and Houston winning since the Babe will re-Curse Boston.
Honestly, it's just too early to tell. Ask again at the end of July.

I'm going with Boston against Philadelphia and a Philly win in 7.
Philly won 2 more games than the Cardinals last year, but missed the playoffs. They've been missing the postseason by a game or so for 6 years now. Since they've fixed their pitching staff (Garcia and Eaton were signed, Moyer is still there from a trade last year and they've got Cole Hamels, who developed into a superstar down the stretch, and Bret Myers, who should have a better year with his legal problems behind him) and they've replaced a .200 hitter at 3rd Base, they're probably a 95 win team or so. When you consider that Pedro Martinez is out half the year for the Mets and their only other half-decent starters are 40-something Glavine and probably about 50-something El Duque, the Mets probably won't make it back to the playoffs.
In Boston's case, they've signed Matsuzaka (he's about as good as Pedro was in his prime), are moving Papelbon to the rotation (Papelbon was the most dominant rookie closer ever and will be great returning to the rotation), and their young stud Lester has recovered from cancer (He was 7-2 last year as a rookie). Both Lester and Papelbon were hurt during their September swoon that followed the sweep by New York, as was Ortiz. In any case, they've added J.D. Drew, who could be one of the all time greats if he cared, to a lineup that includes Manny Ramirez (he showed up early this year, so that's a sign it should be a great year for Boston), Ortiz (he's the dominant power hitter in the AL), and Wily Mo Pena (he'll be a part timer at least at first, but he's developing into a superstar in Boston, which should make them not regret that Bronson Aroyo trade). Coco Crisp should be healthy (he's a younger Johnny Damon) unlike last year. Lugo will hopefully fill the SS hole, which has been hopeless since Nomar left. Pedroia is a good 2B prospect who has appeared on top 50 lists for a few years. He's probably going to be a contender for batting titles. Boston's got a great team, all of whom are healthy this year. Meanwhile, the Yankees had a firesale and are nowhere near as threatening. It could be time for the first AL East Champ not named the New York Yankees since the Orioles won the East in 1997.

This is one of the most popular questions in the department. Everyone knows who the contenders are. We have Yankees, BoSox, White Sox, Detroit, and the Angles. Next part is who is going to challenge these teams. We have Blue Jays, Indians, Twins and a small challegne from A's or Rangers if SP holds up. We all should agree that Baltimore, D'Rays,KC, and Seattle has to have something short of a miracle to challenge the above teams.
The National league top teams are the Mets,Phillies, Braves,Cards,Cubs,Padres, and Dodgers. The pretenders will be Reds,Astros,Giants, and maybe Marlins 'cause the kids just don't relize that they are not that good, just excited. Which means,Pittsburgh,Milwaukee,Col... and d'Backs are just hanging around waiting for the games to begin.
The Yanks will beat out Red sox, Detroit will win w/ White sox and Twins right behind them and Angles will dominate the west. Wild card should be Boston.
Mets will hold of the Phillies w/ braves a very close 3rd. Cubs will beat out Cards w/ 2 of the smartest managers today. Astros and reds will make it interesting till Sept. San Diego will win the west w/ dodgers in 2nd by 6 games. Wild card will be Phillies. They have the SP with SBs and power over the Cards who will collaspe in Sept. caused by injuries. The American League will be represented by Detroit again. they have well balanced team w/ SP, bullpen, power, And a good manager. Their collapse in the WS will motivate them.
My National team will be... (and this hurts) .. Chicago Cubs. They brought in the right people in the right places.
World series winner is the cubs,,, Hex is over.

The Cards will make it to the NL Championship series, but lose to the Mets.
The Yanks and Tigers will slug it out for the AL title with the Tigers going back to the WS again.
The Mets will (finally) win the World Series again...

GIRL, YOU ARE SO RIGHT ON WITH THE A'S PREDICTION! YOU GO ON WITH THAT! But yeah, I agree with you on the A's part of the World Series but dissagree with you on the Cardinals part. I really think the Phillies have a great chance!

I'm sorry but the A's have no potential to win. They're guaranteed to choke against the Yankees or some other AL team.
