You get pregnant when you ovulate and most women ovulate in the very middle of their cycle. So if you have a 28 day cycle you would ovulate 14 days after the first day of your period (on a 32 day cycle it would be day 16, etc.). You can buy an ovulation kit that tells you for sure when you are ovulating but there are also at home tips that can help you determine when you are. Here is a website that tells about the most common methods of determining when you ovulate. (it's under "charting your fertility pattern")

Here is a website that has a very good calendar which tells you the day you ovulate as well as the days you are most fertile (so you don't have to do all the adding, etc!)

The standard answer would be that you are most fertile during ovulation which should be 14 days after the first day of your period. Then you will get your next period 14 days after ovulation (unless you get pregnant). Good Luck!!

No it doesn't happen like tat. Rather these are your safe days. Normally your safe days are, 1 week from the 1st day of your period and 10 days before your period starts. If your periods are regular and you know the lenght of your period you can calculate days on which your chances of getting pregnant are higher, just reduce 14 days from the lenght of your period and the date u get, is the day also 2 days before it and a day following it are the best days to conceive.

take care & god bless
