can wii-games be played on a regular desk top comeputer and what exactly does it means.

No. The games will only run on the Wii Console. You can use a TV-Card for your PC, though, so you can see the consoles output on your PC monitor.

However the discs itself are unplayable on a desktop PC.

About the question "what exactly it means" I don't know what you are referring to.

If you mean the playing on the desktop, it just means you can't.

If you mean the name "Wii" from the console: according to Nintendo "Wii" is pronounced like the English "we", so it means "We" all can and should play together. Most Wii games have excellent multiplayer modes.
And since the Wii connects to the internet you can be connected to other Wii players around the world. So "We" Wii players are together in some way.

get a wii emulator they should have one but it won't be as good as the real wii try emulator zone.com
