do other animals do this as well? I know life itself is just a series of cycles "the circle of life" i was just curious if any scientific smarty pants had a logical point or two.

Several animals mate in certain cycles of the moon

For instance: During a new moon female badgers are 'tolerant' to the advances of males, while a full moon makes them 'hostile'.

It may be an evolutionary hold over from primitive times. Though it is different for women the cycle is still on average 28 days.

humans have excepted a year long matting cycle "anytime" this could explain why some women have it at different times of the lunar cycle

I don't think astrology and the science of how the great forces of t, he various planets moons and sun exert upon each other is insignificant. I would go so far as to speculate that the same mechanism that rules how something grows, why a certain person is attracted to another, and at a certain time, and for what reason. The compatiability factor for one, is stronger than species, race, nationality(when it really comes down to the nitty gritty truth). This is part of the grat laws of the universe. Why for example do we perceive certain notes in unison as either harmonic or aharmonic? How do you scientifically explain why? It's all part of this great mathematical order of thing. And believe me, it's bigger than you think. Astrology is a science that has to do with everything. It's not about some old hook nosed lady gazing into a crystal ball type superstiton. But, then again, who's to know that even she couldn't be in some way connected to this type of truth. There are a lot of fantastic things out there. And truth is not necessarily a constant. It can change with ones point of view. I think that the influences that the celestial body exert upon us and each other, control instinct, animals, and possibly even people go in heat, and a lot of other strange and hard to explain phenomena. I gues i went a liitle far out on this one in the way i tried to answer, but I think astrology has a lot to do with everything, including the moon.

Mine doesn't!

My cycle, when it stays regular at all, is about 28 days.

New moon to new moon is 29 1/2 days.

When they're off by almost two days, I would hardly say there's coincidence.

It doesn't.

While the AVERAGE cycle is 28 days, the variance is up to 8 days, and the actual specific date of any event within the cycle occur at different times of the month for different women:

We're really not sure. Humans are already odd in their ability to get pregnant and their urge to mate all year round. We simply don't know all the reasons behind this. Nor the monthly cycle.

We do not know it is also possible it is simply a coincidence. But to correct Ronin we are not odd or alone in mating all year round. Chimps do it too and Baboons.
