It's like Nextel's Direct COnnect. You just push to talk like on a walkie talkie.

When you call someone through a payphone or any other phone, after the person you're calling answers on the other line, you have to push or press the "talk" button for that person to be able to hear you speak.

as long as You press the talk button & speak your voice will be transmitted the moment you relieve the talk button the outward communication is blocked ,it is quiet useful in some situations.
