One reason would be because one scans better than it prints .

Shouldnt be any disadvantage as long as they arent the same model! It will work fine although one will be set to default. You will still have the option to choose which one you want to use when the printer properties screen comes up.

No i don't think so. There is no disadvantage. But, you need to choose printer before printing job.

Besides, 2 all-in-one printers keeps 2 USB ports busy. That's all.

no,you can set the one that has the cheapest ink as your default and you can also print mutiple documents at the same time so you are able to save time and money!

yeah, you just defeated the purpose of having one all-in-one printer
