A war between Russia and Japan over spheres of influence in Korea and China, namely Port Aurthur and Lao Yang. Following the defeat of the Russians at port Aurthur the Czar sent his Baltic fleet to the far east to destroy the Japanese Navy. En Route the Baltic fleet mistook a British vessel and opened fire upon it. In retaliation the British closed the Suez canal to the Baltic fleet thus forcing them to circumnavigate the whole of Africa and setting them back 4 months. It is also believed that the British told the Japanese about the impending Russian attack.(SEE: Anglo-Japanese Treaty of 1901) When the Russians did arrive their fleet was destroyed at the Battle of the Tusemee straits and the US President T. Roosevelt won a Nobel peace prize for ending the war with the Treaty of Portsmouth New Hampshire 1905. Its major significance was that it was the first time in the modern era that a non-European power had defeated a European power (US is a European Power.) Thus it set the stage for the post-colonial era and strengthened Japan's resolve to expand its empire in Asia. Moreover, it showed the world that Russia and its military might had declined from the time of Napoleon.

JEEZE, you don't know that!? OH MY LORD. Are you even Japanese? God. God..
Russians vs. Japanese. Cause? Russians raped Japanese civies. God. You didn't know that?
Result? Japanese won with a treaty, but then Russians broke that treaty at the end of WW2. Freaking Russians with their cheap tactics to get more territory and cash.
