Not sure if things are changing, but conservatives seem unwilling to put a stop to what is going on. Now dems are going to give it shot and they will be quickly demonized for it.

I do feel that some of the people in my government are corrupt. Not all. But when you have a election system where people are elected based on how much money they are able to provide for campaigning. They get elected on false promises to people and take bribes from companies to do good things for the companies, not individual people.
Democracy is NOT the problem. It is the bad people who twist and mutilate what democracy is about. Democracy is good. Its about freedom and the right to do what you want in a country where all men and women are free. The right to not agree with what everyone else says you must. The right to bear arms and the right to tell your government that NO we wont stand for the corruption. The taxes, the hatemongering between political parties. The impositions of having other cultures shoved down our throats. This country is supposed to be about the land of the free and home of the brave and Apple pie. Where we never would take the insults that come our way. That America is still here. Somewhere. There will come a day when well say no more. Youve gone to far and we aint gonna take it no more. DEMOCRACY works. Our politicians have failed us. Not Democracy.

No, I do not. I know that it looks really, really bad right now, but I believe in my heart that most Americans are still the moral, honest, decent people that I've found them to be throughout the majority of my life, and that America has been co-opted by the wicked few. We will somehow get through this darkest chapter of American history, and maybe emerge from it a little more moral than we were previously. Plus we will all be more vigilant to make sure that an administration like this does not ever come to power again.

This is a broad question which requires time, but briefly I beleive Most Americans are asleep and unaware of what is going on. We have become a nation of comfort and complacency over freedom and liberty. I say this because you ask an american if they know or understand the CONSTITUTION, I say 99 % them have no clue or understand it. (If they did, there would be a revolution right now). Maybe bits and pieces but not the whole fabric and substance of its true meaning.
Our political system is full of corruption, and the constitution.... well just another piece of paper dragged through the mud.
Our Founding Fathers are rolling in their graves at what they gave their lives for. A Free REPUBLIC (not democracy) of checks and balances with limited government (the opposite is true where we have unlimited government power today)
Legislative, Judicial and Executive branches, all power has centered at the white house. Sadly our president....well, pretty much does what he pleases without proper and lawful procedures and consent of congress.
What's sad is this stuff has been going on for years, starting with the the federal reserve.(thats a whole diffrent subject)
Study the CONSTITUTION of our Country and you know it is truly a Heavenly banner, inspired and written by men of great faith in a living God and acknowledge his hands in their lives and decisions.
Many will argue that times have changed and the Constitution is outdated, sure technology has boomed, homes are bigger, people are making gobs of money, basically anything is at the touch of a finger, but one thing is constant and never changes....HUMAN NATURE....That is what the constitution was written for. To guarantee you, me and everyone else who lives in this country our unalienable rights without BIG GOVERNMENT infringing on those rights.
Corporate America is what I believe we live in. Living under socialistic rules, with debt over our head
Debt.......yes trillions, thats why every American is paying that price through taxes up the ying yang. (cost of Big Government)
History is a great indicator of what happens to a society when government becomes master. Wars, rumor of wars and ultimately a devastating cave in unders its own corrupt power.
Im no prophet but if History repeats its cycle, only time can tell the devastating effects of what Big Corrupt Government will due to a society.
We as americans have no one else to blame but ourselves. No one man or group of people can do the things they due without "The peoples consent".
There is a reason for the constitution and that was to give "The people" the right to dispose of Big corrupt government, through whatever means possible, by persuasion or by force.

If anyone would actually look in a history book, they would see that corruption has existed in the US for many many years (there is ALWAYS corruption where there is power). The present Administration is much less corrupt than many administrations in the past. As far as the rest of the world, the US is nowhere near the top of that list.

Yes, the US is corrupted. We are not passive followers, we are unable to change anything. What can we do? The candidates for our upcoming election make me want to vomit, and then eat my vomit. Ugg. Oh, and businesses are being investigated. Well, the small ones anyway.

The U.S. Government is evil. It is inevitable as well, being the most powerful country in the world. Our elected president has much taken the role of a dictator. Think about it, the U.S. President is the most powerful man in the world. If you were Satan, who would you be after.

I think you need to rephrase you initial question. By posting a question on Yahoo! Answers once I don't think you'll reach most americans. But if you want an answer to it, find a poll on CNN.

I agree with your assessments, we Americans have lost our way. I have hope for us, and the planet, with our children, they see more clearly and are quite idealistic, they may bring the world together, in the nick of time,,,,,,
