The song Smile... I aways liked singing that one :o)
Smile though your heart is aching;
Smile even though it's breaking.
When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by.
If you smile through your fear and sorrow,
Smile and maybe tomorrow,
You'll see the sun come shining through for you.
Light up your face with gladness,
Hide every trace of sadness.
Although a tear may be ever so near,
That's the time you must keep on trying,
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile,
If you just smile.
That's the time you must keep on trying,
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile

"Helter Skelter" (the Pat Benatar version).....or maybe "Kick It Out", a rare radio airplayed song (should've been a bigger hit for the Wilson sisters) by the band "Heart".
Look: ALL moms and daughters sing the Cyndi Lauper stuff....to where it's sooooo overdone **sighhhh!!**.
You two need both to have fun and ROCK ON--with the REAL rock!! Take care and hope these two ideas will do.

I really like In my daughter's eyes by Martina McBride. It's a great song and every time I hear it I cry. (tears of joy) It makes me think of my own daughter who I prayed for 7 years for. She is now 2.
Also I like Love can build a bridge by the Judds.

I don't know you or your daughter, but a song that has special meaning to me & my daughters is "Both Sides Now" sung by Judy Collins (I think that's who sang it) - it goes "I've looked at clouds from both sides now, from up & down & still somehow, it's cloud's illusions I recall, I really don't know clouds at all."

This one: Why do birds suddenly appear every time you are near? Just like me, they want to be close to you. Why do stars fall down from the sky every time you walk by? Just like me they long to be next to you.

"doncha" by the Pussycat Dolls. Actually, I sing "Under the Mango Tree" all the time to my daughter, and she cracks up every time.
