First thing to do is find out where they are coming in and patch that. Second thing to do is to provide shade out side because they are coming in to where it is cooler. Maybe get some larger rocks or small boulders and make a garden with them. The lizards will not hurt you. They will actually eat many insects that you don't want around your house. Catch them in a small net and send them on their way outside.

They are probably coming in because it's cooler inside, or they might be looking for bugs to eat. (If I didn't have cat's I'd love a couple of lizards, they'd eat all the crummy spiders!)
They are probably getting in through some opening around a door or window so find that and your problem is solved.
Also, lizards are totally harmless and are really beneficial so, if you are scared of them...there's no need to be. (Sorry, don't mean to be patronizing or anything but some people are totally afraid of them)
Also, I have never heard of them nesting inside peoples houses either.
