I am planning on going to a college in Tokyo, Japan for a year that requires a $22,000 tuition fee. I am only 15, does anyone have ideas to raise this large sum in a short period of 3 years? Also, I must request that nobody say something like "Mow lawns" because I have calculated the income I made over a year of mowing lawns for $10 a yard and I came up with quite a pathetic amount that wouldn't even cover a quarter of the costs required for this college. Thank you for you help!

Why don't you get a job at McDonalds and save your money. In 3 years you should have enough to go to Tokyo.

Get a job. Most jobs will not hire 15 year olds (due to insurance coverages) but I think McDonald's still does. If you work 20 hours a week or more (and more during the summer if you want time off during exam weeks and vacations, etc.) you should come out at about $22,000. Just remember that tuition increases every year, so prepare for that if you want.

Also, ask your parents if they can open up a CD account for you through their bank. They have some that are 90-days long with a rate somewhere between 3% and 4%- meaning you can't touch the money for 90 days without a fee. But you can deposit money every 90 days and earn interest monthly.

Start a home business with your mom or dad and set the money aside for your college.

I've fixed computers from home on my own and i've also sold used and new books on Amazon.com and in 2006 alone made over $7,000 easily. Amazon doesn't charge you like Ebay. They only take their cut after you sell a product, Ebay charges you whether you sell something or not.

So just pick what you think ppl like and run with it.

Sell Mary Kay. I kid you not. A friend of mine sells it and she makes enough to not have to really work. Look into it. http://www.marykay.com/startabusiness/default.aspx
