name the object wher a steel sphere is held at 2 point inside a steel ring, whic is held at 2points at 90 degrees inside bigger steel ring, which in turn is held at 2points inside another bigger ring. the setup is so oosely hled that if one disturbs any thing the objects keeps showing suspended motion of variours rings and spheres by inertia. the object looks, faciniting , i dont know its use, looks like a good gift or a toy. speific replies please no book or subject references please. thanks

The mounting you are referring to is normally called a gimble. Gyroscopes and compasses are often mounted in gimbles on board ships to isolate them from the ship's rocking.
