Turn on the car, put my foot on the brake to release the gear and move to drive/reverse D4 starts to flash almost instantly no problems when in drive, only started after i changed the radiator.

Any help on this topic would be genuinely appreciated.

Usally the D4 light blinking would indicate a problem with the speed sensor. You would not have any driving problems but if you ignore the problem long enough then your speedometer would start acting up. The part from the dealer is usally in the 180-200 price range, to have someone replace it then it would be no more then an hour labor. The speed sensor bolts to the top of your transmission on the back side of the engine near the firewall.

Have your transmission checked out. I just replaced my tranny and my honda accord is a 1998. They have web sites devoted to tranny problems with Automatic Honda transmissions. Mine cost $3500.00 to fix!

if your check engine light is on take it to autozone they might be able to pull up the trouble code and give you a general idea what the problem might be and how serious it is
