I thought that Bill Pullman played a very good roll. I was moved when he had to tell his daughter that her mother died and was sleeping. I also liked it when he made the decision to fly and fight. He could have stayed in the bunker instead off fly the attack mission against the aliens.

I love this movie! It is one of my favorites. I like the part when he gives the Independence day speech before they fly up to defeat the alien ships. And it was so touching when he had to tell his daughter that her Mommy was "sleeping now."

He was decent, basically the Anti-Clinton at that time. Retired soldier/pilot who wanted to join in the fight. Pretty much Gung ho.

It has been a few years since I've seen it but if I remember correctly his acting was as terrible in that movie as it is in anything else he has ever done.
