If the cities of Las Vegas or Kansas City are willing and able to financially support the team and insure not only it's survival but it's ability to be economically viable and competitive for years to come then by all means... they should move there.

The team needs to be stable and able to pay it's rising stars what they are worth and not be saddled with debt so they eventually have to break up their lineup over financial issues thus degrading the team and making teh team into a farm team for other teams in the league.

Move Pittsburgh to Kansas City... they are begging for an NHL team and have the facilities and the financial plan to support them ... free rent and the team gets half the revenues? What more can you ask really?

If Las Vegas can come up with a plan and offer that good as well... then they should be next in line if a team like the Islanders or Predators need to move. Just don't expand beyond 30 teams before the 30 currently in the league are stable, competitive and financially secure.

Financially, Las Vegas offers the best venue for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Not only is the city of Las Vegas capable of providing a premier facility for the Penguins, they will be able to offer special packages for families to attend hockey games. This is a win-win for the NHL and hockey fans throughout the world.

Kansas City supports a major football team, The Kansas City Chiefs, and their fans are extremely and adamantly supportive; but, I don't believe Kansas City is capable of maintaining a National Hockey League team. The St. Louis Blues are just "down the road", and they will continue to be "the Bad Boys of Hockey", supported by, and loved by all Missourians. The St. Louis Rams, even though they have "fallen from grace", continue to have the support of Missourians and garner their share of sports spectators--and don't forget the St. Louis Cardinals.

Wherever the Pittsburgh Penguins move, they will need a name change.

They will stay in Pittsburgh. As for Kansas City and Las Vegas ... they just have to look down the road. Two more teams will be moving soon .. Atlanta and Nashville.

Don't pay much attention do you? They are working with the State and City offically until June 30th when the lease runs out. Yeah they are already looking where to move but that is to make sure the transition will be quicker. In other words they won't announce where they are moving, if they do and that is somewhat likely, until July. So they aren't "going to make a decision quick" because they can't announce it. They should move to K.C. if they have to pick between those two. Sorry but teams shouldn't be in Vegas. There is a reason that the NBA won't let teams be based there.

The Penguins should stay where they are. I've heard the arguments....none of them make sense to me if they moved to either KC or LV....

Kansas City? Sure, they're building a new state-of-the-art arena, but it's in a mediocre market, a previous team in the late 70's couldn't make it there, and the NHL can't even find an owner for the team there! Lemieux's not going to follow the team, who are we kidding.

Las Vegas? Stupid market. Everyone who lives there will either be placing bets on the home team or working at the casino to take their money. No one will ever fill the arena there unless there's a boxing match before the game.

So, will the people and fans of Pittsburgh, on behalf of all hockey fans all over the world, please stand up and push to keep Crosby, Malkin and Stahl in Pittsburgh!!!

I don't feel they should move to either city. If Pittsburgh moves, it should be north to Canada. Put a team back in Quebec or Winnipeg. Las Vegas is a desert that doesn't need a hockey team. Kansas City can't support a team in a sport that is no longer a major sport. Canada is the only place where they would draw enough fan support to keep the team running. Crosby, Malkin, Malone, Fleury, and Staal aren't enough in a town that won back to back Stanley Cups. It seems that only a Canadian city would appreciate a hockey team with that much history and tradition.

My unselfish answer is the best thing for the sport would be to see them work something out so they can stay.

My selfish answer (since I live in So Cal) would be Las Vegas, Sidney would be just 5 hours away!

Portland, OR is a very possible destination for the Pens. Paul Allen who owns the Blazers and Seahawks has expressed interest in bringing an NHL team to town
