i am trying to get my 3 felonies expunged i got them as an adult it was not juvenile but it has been 3-4 years i have 3 felonies for theft that occured all at the same time. im ready to move past this and would like to know if anyone is familiar with the process of getting them sealed or expunged and how can i go about doing it. i live in illinois....and please just helpful answers thanks!

Usually it requires hiring an attorney that has experience with that. Also most states like you to wait about 5 years before trying to clear your record.

You wouldn't be able to expunge 3 felony theft charges, especially as an adult. The charges show a history and trend to be a habitual offender. With those charges it would take a minimum of 10 years after the final disposition of the final charge - without having any further charges.

If it were that easy to remove crimes from your record all criminal would have spotless records. Sorry but it can't realistically be done.

You need to hire a lawyer, and in Nebraska anyway it costs around 50 plus court costs to get it off your record. I also think but am not sure that only minors can clear their records. Also if the charges are felony instead of misdemeanors you may have a harder time.
