I believe in God but am not religious, drink sometimes, was divorced and have no kids, am engaged, live in an apartment after the loss of my house, have been depressed from time to time but am trying to better myself and my life. My family has all passed away except for my twin sister and we do not speak.

In the first place, God did not create religion, that was done by man. Fellowship with other believers is good for your heart. Jesus did not preach against drinking, He preached so that you would not allow drink to become your own god, to be a slave to it........addiction. His first miracle was changing water into wine! ( I try telling that to my Southern Baptist parents and they roll their eyes at me....even at the age of 47!)
Life is hard and having friends, no matter the distance, no matter your economic status, your religious background, your ethnicity or failed marriages, we need others to lean upon as well as seek advice and comfort. I also have a twin, a brother, and he has not sent me a birthday card in the past five years, or even tried to call me at holiday seasons. I do. You gave no reason as to the why of no contact with your twin sister but that may be too painful to talk about. We are our own worst critics and heap self abuse upon ourselves when most of the time we don't deserve it. We must love ourselves first than having to worry who we have at our side. If you need someone to chat, talk, complain, seek advice then by all means do so. Many out here is this small world are looking for others just like you.
"No greater love hath a man than this; that he may lay down his life for his friends." John 15:13
