Liberals don't believe in personal responsibility but rather collective or group responsibility, therefore when there are problems either in their lives or in the world, they seek to blame a government or government figure.

Why does my standard of living change depending on who is in office????

The Federal Government, it's leader, and all the other elected and appointed officials DO affect our daily lives. Dubya has taken away some of our Constitutionally guaranteed rights, caused a huge, HUGE deficit, and provoked many countries and individuals (some of whom are going to become "terrorists".) He has sent our young people into a needless war, and he has not secured our borders (which is how terrorists get into the country...duh!) He has allowed the continuance of jobs leaving this country, and has done absolutely NOTHING to improve the educational system (and MANY countries are beating us in this area!!) The middle class is dwindling under his "decidership", and the poor are becoming "extremely poor" (see article--about a week ago).

I don't see the person at fault when I look into the mirror; I didn't vote for him!!

I don't have a "sad" life, but I sure could use some help in the "medical" area. Also, I worry about a government that can't even take care of people after a hurricane; God help us if there was a nuclear attack on our soil!!

Dubya was and is ill-prepared to lead this country, and I DON'T blame myself.

I don't know which liberals you're talking to- unless they're the extremist- dare I say fundamentalist liberals who blame anything and everything that doesn't agree with their point of view. I think of myself as liberal, but don't blame Mr. Bush for my personal problems- nobody can blame anyone else for their personal problems but themselves. Rather I look at Mr. Bush as offering a poor representation for what our country stands for in the eyes of other nations and implementing bad policies that have long lasting repercussions. But no Mr. Bush didn't run up my credit card or total my car- don't generalize liberals either-

The basic principle of liberal ideology is never to accept personal responsibility. To them, it's always someone else's fault. Liberals do not believe in personal responsibility as long as there is someone else to blame.

I find that it is conservatives who are usually the ones blaming liberals for just about everything

The only looking glass I see around here is the Alice in Wonderland ones the cons use. The economy is all rosy, the mad hatter is running the country, and alice (the american people) is lost in la la land.
