Wrestling is not fake. It is one of the toughest and oldest sports known to man.
This ECW and NWA and other bullsh*t that calls itself wrestling is utterly fake. Think ballet on steroids.

Yes. The wrestlers ARE really athletic, and they are great actors. Have you ever noticed when they hit somebody they stomp? That makes the impact seem worse than it really is. As for the blood, I'm sure they have some kind of blood packets or something. They do their own stunts, and some wrestlers have gotten hurt from it. It's entertainment...that's why it's called World Wrestling ENTERTAINMENT. It's all fun, and most people watch it anyways for the story line.
And, I read somewhere post 9/11, the match between Stone Cold (who was in the Alliance) and Kurt Angle (who was in the WWF before it was WWE fighting for Vince MacMahon), their results were changed b/c there was a surge of patriotism, and Kurt Angle was seen as a patriot. And I remember Kurt Angle winning. I'm not sure if it was true or not...we can't believe everything we read. But I could see how it would be true. Either way, wrestling is fake and for fun.

Fake isn't the proper term for it. Yes, it's predetermined, for the most part anyway. The moves are rehearsed and performed a certain way because if they were done for real someone could end up seriously injured, or worse.

To the person who said the wrestlers don't get bruised or turn red with the blows, you have never been on the receiving end of a Flair-style chop. Nor have you ever 'ran the ropes' - that's when a wrestler runs or is thrown into the ropes and rebounds into another move.

Seriously, I challenge anyone who calls wrestling "fake" to take a day's worth of introductory training. Sure, you might feel fine afterward, but wait 'til morning. Regardless of how it's done, it still hurts.

It's all in the script but you can't put in the script how it will end up like when Foley threw those thumb tacks into the ring. Also I was around years ago when Verne Gagne, Mad Dog Vachon, The Crusher and The Bruiser etc all wrestled for the AWA and back then it looked alot more real than it does these days. It just looks alot more fake these days than it did year ago.

Nobody who watches wrestling thinks it's 'real' anymore, just as people who watch movies don't think that aliens are actually attacking earth or that somehow Charlie Sheen's dad is president. These same people also know that the ending is predetermined. They know that when Rocky steps into the ring, the outcome was known before filming even began. We suspend our disbelief, just like people watching plays, movies, television, radio dramas, magicians, and fireworks.

mmm,
yes and no.

no, they don't make script to play because they want the revengence against another wrestler.

in addition, you already know about Eddie Guenez, sorry, I can't spell, E.G. died last year ago due to drug abuse history. it is real.

last 2 months ago Triple H has a serious knee injury. he successed the surgery. he will come back about July. is it fake? no, it is real.

in addition, you can see "street fight" as hardcore style match, they will get hurt easily, you may see fresh blood and bruise.

then, last 2 year ago Wrestlemania John Cena freaking beated up JLB in "I quit" match, you can see real blood.

mostly wrestler make a living on script... WWE, TNA and ECW are not fake UNLESS they want the revegence without script.

its too bad its fake. The move are real but its too bad that the whole thing not real. Scripted, stories, without rehearsing wrestling move, but its all entertainment and wrestler safety.

If you mean "professional" wrestling, it is highly scripted as far as moves, throws, and the outcome. The guys are very athletic, so are really doing the action.

Greco-Roman wrestling is real.

It really depends what show to watch. If it's WWE then yes, beacuse they plan the whole events in advance, and they punch fake. ECW, not sure beacuse they wrestle extremely. TNA is fake sometimes.
It really depends
