I have Charter Digital Cable and the Big Value Package which includes the on-demand movie channels. Can someone tell me how to hook up my DVD recorder so that I can record a movie from the digital cable box. Where should my audio and video wire go to and from and what should my cable wire connect to?

Hi Laura,

Connect the Red White Yellow from the cable box to the Red White Yellow on the back of your DVD recorder labeled "input". Now connect the RED White Yellow jack on the back of the DVD recorder labeled "output"into the RED White yellow on the back of your TV labeled "Input".

Most cable/satellite providers protect their movie channels with macrovision, so you may not be able to record anything.

To give it a try.
Connect composite video out (yellow video) from the set-top box to composite video in
and connect the corresponding audio out to audio in.
