This is just saffron.
Nothing will happen if you don't take it, I've never heard of consumption of kunkuma puvvu (saffron) being manditory for a successful pregnancy.
It's more of a cultural thing than a medical one.
I know from dealing with Indian patients that many women take saffron and milk to ensure that their baby will have a fair complexion (apparently valued) but since a baby's genetic makeup governs it's colouring, taking anything during pregnancy to achieve this result is all but useless.

I told you not to roll around in the clinic dumpster before having sex. You're lucky the only thing you gave her was a babby.... it'll probably have 2 heads and smell like gravy.

be careful what you take when you are pregnant and always check with a doctor before starting or stopping any meds.
