So my close friend of 5 yrs and I dont speak bc I refuse to answer her calls because of things she's said to me as of late...she told me a relationship I had isnt serious and i should "get over it", she never dove 1hr to come visit me at school but drove 8+ hrs to see a guy and told me "my car acts up", she told me that maybe I'm to blame for my problems, AND since she got into a 4 yr university said "you know I'm in .... now so I'm busy" as an excuse as to why we dont talk or hang out often though when I was in school I NEVER said that to her or belittled her for going to a community college. So now I havent spoken to her in a month adn was just gonna call her on her bday in April. I'm not ready to make nice! So am I acting bitchy or is this justified?

well you have a right to be mad. but at least give her a freakin reason. cuz' she obviously is a little blonde in the head and doesn't get why you're mad. so just call her up and say happy b-day and ask if she's doing anything. and if she asks why you've been ignoring her...just say she was being a little bitchy so you were being bitchy back. and that you're sorry for ignoring her. good luck. hope this blows over.

Sorry to say this, but I don't think either one of you are exactly being good friends. For starters, she's wrong because you NEVER tell your friends to just "get over it." With her not completely understanding your situation, that is rude and uncaring. Second of all, she shouldn't be lying to you about visiting her boyfriend. If she can drive to see him, then she can drive to see you. For all you know, she may really be busy. Just consider that. And I hate to think of this as a consideration, but there HAS to be a reason why she's making up excuses to not come visit you. Obviously, you have done something to make her mad, and she tried to avoid you. The friendship wasn't going anywhere, anyways. I'm sorry.

Sounds like a bit of both, she may not be the best friend but it sounds like neither are you. She may be busier, and friends its easier to have frienships over the phone than a romantic relationship. As far telling you you might be to blame for your problems, has it occured to you it may be tough love?

Friendships should be forgiving, on both sides.

Sounds like your close friend really isn't as close as you thought. Some people only want to be friends when it is good for them. They only want you to be their friend but they never have time to be a friend to you. Open yourself up to meet other people that have some of the same interest as you and let he go on.

you are sounding a bit immature. it usually doesnt hurt to listen to critisism.it definately doesnt hurt ;not sweating the little shtuff.of course you should examine the critic for honesty.
she could be an idiot.or. she could be allot of help.
just because y'all grow; doesnt mean that you must grow apart.spending time apart will give you experiences to talk about with each other.
in your life you will grow away from allot.
i'm 48 now. i'm getting closer to growing up...

Move on. She thinks she is better than you which probably isn't true. You'll find other friends that aren't like that and, though you won't forget her, things'll be peachy after a while. I think she has dropped you to a lower level of 'peasant'..
