Of course, what does a person need to be around? The disturbance in the air is still created. Why do people think they are some important in the scheme of things.

Well since there is no one around to observe the evidence of the tree making a sound one cannot conclude that the tree makes a sound.

It makes vibrations in the air and on the ground, but without any kind of ear (or receiver) to receive the sound, it isn't considered a "sound". By "nobody" do you also mean no living creatures with ears? If so, then the answer is no.

Yes. The thump of the tree hitting the ground still produces sound waves, regardless of the presence of a person to hear them. On an unrelated matter- whose to say there isn't a squirrel or bird there to listen?

sound can only occur when there are three things to support it: something to create sound waves (tree falling), something to carry the waves (the atmosphere), and something to turn the waves into sound (ears). Since there are no ears present then there is no sound, only sound waves that eventually die out without ever being sound.

The answer is simpler than philosophy neophytes would have you believe. The impact creates ripples in the air that is perceived as sound by most living creatures--any whose lives are affected by sound. In the absence of those creatures, there are only ripples in the air. In the absence of air, you don't even have that.
