If we were to take a small town high school as a sample size: there are 10,000 people in this town, and approximately 300 of them are 16 year olds, as there are 300 per grade level at the high school. So the percentage is .03
We will then multiply that by the current US population which is about 301,329,030 (there's birth every 8 seconds, so that's as current as I can get) then we come up with
