I would have to say Run Lola Run or Life is Beautiful. Very different movies both very good. Life is Beautiful won Best foreign film and was also nominated for best picture the same year. I also believe that the director one an Oscar as well.

bleu (from trois colours), seven samurai, monty python and the holy grail, M, I am Cuba (if ur into cinematography its a must), 8 1/2, 400 blows, breathless, amelie, totsti was actually great, Juan (the grudge), pans labyrinth, City of God... I have a lot more these are just some I love and have seen somewhat recently
