I want genres and subgenres of muuuusic. I'd prefer if you didn't list Slipknot, Korn, Mudvayne, crap on the radio, mainstream, country, anything close to country, or ICP. I need INDIVIDUALS who listen to their own crap. I need some big band, underground hip hop, black metal, drum and bass, classic rock, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's music, etc etc etc etc and so on etc. Hook me up with something that wouldn't be on everyones playlist. Give me something catchy. Give me something sexy; something to dance to; something to rock to; something to bob my head with; something to ride with; something awesome. YOU know what's awesome in your mind. Share it. I'm constantly looking for more and more music.

I've heard of a lot of these.... By the way. I knew one of you would say Glenn Miller. More 'underground', please.

I gave you what I'm familiar with. There isn't really anything like anything on this list... or they were the originators of their sound. Gave you something sexy, something to dance to, something to rock to, something to bob your head with, something to ride with, and many things awesome... enjoy

Oh, baby, you're speakin' my language!

First is Black Crowes, Alien Ant Farm, and Avenged Seven Fold. Yes, before you give up on me and go to the next answer, I am well aware they've been on the radio, but the radio singles of theirs PALE in comparison to the good stuff that is deeper on the CDs. For example, the album By Your Side, by Black Crowes, EVERY SONG ROCKS SO HARD, and they chose the worst song on it(still pretty good) to go onto VH1. Also, Black Crowe's Amorica is rockin' awesome. Alient Ant Farm was only popular when Movies and Smooth Criminal were hot, but their newly released third CD is friggin' hard core! Half the time I listen to music, it's that!

King's X is a band you'll never hear on the radio, but they're dang good(as long as you avoid their Faith Hope Love CD). They're popular among musicians. For starters, I'd recomend the Dogman CD which is pretty hard music and all pretty good, but everything they do is very good music.

King Crimson was sort of popular in the 70s with In the Court of the Crimson King and such, but their new stuff ROCKS! Check out the Thrack CD. That one is dang good.

And since you're into listening to new music, check out my origionals at www.myspace.com/brianburchband Let me know if you dig it.

And finally, my favorite band is Marillion. They're like a slightly softer Pink Floyd, but SO much better at it. Marillion is definitely soft rock, but it's really great music, if you're into the softer rock. Really really great.

Also, before you spend a billion bucks on CDs you may or may not like, go to the library and check out CDs from there. Order them if you have to. It's all free. Listen to it for a couple weeks, and if you still like it, buy it from the store. Don't burn it from the library, though. That's piracy, and that would be illegal. ;)

One more thing. Look deeper on the Barenaked Ladies CD's, particularly Maroon. That's great songwriting, sans the radio songs. Radio is so lame!

Hmm, for trippy try some Space Monkeys and Babylon Zoo, for soul/funk try Terrence Trent D'Arby or Robin Thicke, for punk try Ghoti Hook or X, relaxing try Tori Amos or PM Dawn, and for me, you can never go wrong with the Pet Shop Boys.
