If you are asking about those who were teens in the 50's, they would have been born in the 40's. If they were born in the 50's, they were little kids, and didn't care much.
I am going to answer these questions from a 50's teenager's point of view.
1. Girls wore circle skirts, either plain or patterned, or with the poodle dog on them. Lots of crinolines underneath to hold the skirt out. Crinolines were stiffened with sugar water.
We also wore straight skirts. Mid calf length. .... Sweaters, either long or short sleeved. Little white stick-in collars at the neck. Hair done up in a high pony tail, with a scarf tied around the elastic.
2. Most teens wore these same skirts. Ladies wore dresses.
3. Penny loafer shoes were popular, with shiny pennies in them. When Pat Boone became popular, we all had white bucks shoes, like his.
4 Jewelry was generally chains with pendants on them.
5. Top item bought was records. Some LP albums, but most likely the 45s, with one song on each side.
I'm not giving out my name, because I never do that. Don't like it, and it is too recognizable. I'm the only one in this area with this name. So, you may not be able to use my answers. But what the heck, I tried.

I wasn't born in the 50's but I know what they wore: Straight leg jeans rolled up at the bottom; skirts with slips underneath that made them stick out, often embroidered with poodles or some other large single applicque; with the skirts they wore form fitting sweaters often buttoning down the front with scarves tied to one side around their necks; Bangs and ponytails, bobby socks and saddle oxfords with skirts
