I'm writing it on The Threepenny Opera, a play by Bertolt Brecht, and I can't remember if play titles are underlined or placed in quotations. I know I could hunt out my English handbook, but it would take until after the due date to find it.

Also, if I name my paper The Endurance of The Threepenny Opera, what do I do to the words The Threepenny Opera within the larger title? Thanks in advance.

Play titles are underlined OR italicized. Your choice. Both are correct according to MLA.

For your paper title, do not underline the whole thing. Only italicize or underline The Threepenny Opera.

I hope that helps!

you can either underline or italicize the titles but dont quote them. as far as the title i would put it as The Endurance of (The Threepenny Opera) with the part in between the parentheses being italicized.
