I am so done talking about Chicago, they have really disgusted me this offseason. To answer your question, Benson will suck and so will Grossman simply because they dont have their work horse,Jones, to fall back on and take some of the attention away from them.

Thomas will surely be missed, but Cedric Benson is the real deal. This was the inevitable turn of events that were set in place when Benson was drafted. Jones would command a big contract come resigning period and the Bears would not take him up on it, better to get something for him then let him fall to free agency. Do keep in mind, a solid back up would be someone like Chris Brown from Tennessee who is still available. They also still have Adrian Peterson on roster who did well for them a few years ago in a filling roll like Dominique Rhodes had done for the Colts in Edge's absence, and see how good things have become for Rhodes. They will keep the two back set with Benson as the premier. It was the right choice and a tough one. Good job Chicago management for having the guts to do so.

good enough to let go of jones....he has the size and toughness to be a nice between the tackles type of guy. we all know he was ultra productive at texas; i think the bears were planning on this when they drafted him. they feel its his chance and this saves them some money and they can spend it on other help (retaining briggs and pursuing other FA's, i.e. a cheaper back than jones to help ease benson's load and probably a qb to challenge rex).

Hopefully outstanding...I don't understand the Bears giving up a two front offense to rely on one guy who could get hurt. Especially under the ridiculous terms they gave up Thomas for.
