I am living proof that men and women can be friends without EVER crossing that line.
I know that as friends we all have bad moments when we may need to cry on the others shoulder. And it's times like those that we may confuse compassion for romance.
It simple takes two MATURE people who set boundaries and make a conscience choice to NOT cross that line.
My BEST friend is a guy. We've been friends for 25 years now. We've stayed in the same house, even slept in the same bed. We've cried on each others shoulders more times that I can count, and we NEVER crossed the line. He just recently got married and has a beautiful 2 year old daughter, and I couldn't be happier for him!
I'd just tell anyone who has a close friend of the opposite sex to simply trust and RESPECT one another and the boundaries that are in place. They'll be fine.
BTW, he and I have given each other some good advice over the years. I give him my opinion on what women may be feeling and he gives me the same input about guys.

Sometimes it is easy to be friendly with a man and just have him as a friend. It helps you understand how men think in situations. As far as it every getting to be more, if you are friends, true friends, sex shouldn't be a part of this. If you are staying friendly with a man in hopes that someday he will see you as more than a friend, don't do it, too many chances that it will not happen, and in the long run you will be hurt. Or, you can sleep together and ruin a good friendship. Don't hang around someone all the time just because you care for them more than they care for you in any sort of romantic way. It only leads to hurt.

I think that it is possible for a guy and girl to be friends and have no relations together. I have a male friend and him and I have never went there and will never go there. Usually, if a man and a woman that claim to be friends start liking each other, they probably already had some attractions to each other when they met and just weren't honest.

i think that a man and a woman can be good friends without ever kissing lips !.. because if you are around that person so much you tend to love them ! but ina a way that leaves them untouchable to each other because they end up be so good of friends that they think of each other as sister and brother and i dunt think sisters and bothers kiss lips !.. or even have sex ! being such good friends can stay that way if there isint any attraction between them ! im shure if your best friend isnt attractive you wont get the urge to date them ! but if looks deosnt mean anything to you !. . you can be attached but in a family way ! . .but some people to end up falling in love with each other and want to be more then just friends at one point it all depends on the friendship and the way you guys look at each other =)

a big yes to that,
a man and woman can actually be true frnds wthout becoming too intimate. Ihave lots of frnds that are men that are very close to me,and it does not mean that we are close so we do it..having a guy for a close frnd is actually a very great thing, because you can understand a man very well through your guy frnd...you see,men and women are two diffrnt individual,so having them togethr as one is sharing their diff views, and principles in life...in that way both will gain insights on diff sides which would help each one of them to best behave and handle relationships better with the opposite sex....so its not necessary to sleep together just to have a good guy friend or the opposite..
hope i answered your question...

Definitely. I am married, but I have a female friend that is a friend of my entire family. We go fishing, camping, and swimming together. I might fantasize about her, but I would never have sex with her. We agreed at the beginning that we only wanted to be friends with each other.
My wife lets me go camping with her, because she trusts both of us, and she realizes that we are true friends to each other. We just enjoy each others company. We have been friends for 26 years, and have never thought about sex with each other. That is a mark of a true friend.

My favorite debate!!! I always have to try to defend myself on this one against my boyfriend!!! Yes, I do believe that a man and a woman can just be friends...There may be some sexual tension there...but you don't have to act on it. Plus, that can be the whole fun of it!
