iPOD Help! My nano is not charging. I was being careless and didn't notice and now the low battery sign is...

I didn't notice my battery was red and the battery died. All I have on it is a screen that says: Low Battery No battery power remains. Please connect iPOD to power. I've been trying to charge it, but the light isn't going away. I've tried charging it on its own charger, then the port, and then on iTunes, but nothing seems to work..What can I do? I need it for tomorrow for my dance program.
