Myself, being caucasion, white, or a cracker... how ever you want to say it............ I think it is because most white people are now afraid of blacks. and black people are offended when whitey calls them the "n" word, yet they can call themselves ignorant!!! How silly is that? I would be offended if anyone would call me ignorant, black or white or asian or hispanic or alien.
Is it funny in your culture to call yourselves ignorant or do you make fun of other cultures in a degrading way because you (as a culture) can not, as you say, take the heat?
I cant say for sure, its my opinion... besides, I have laughed at many white jokes made by black comidians.

Well, I love watching black comedy. I find it very funny. But you do have a point. I think it all depends how it's used. I mean, remember the guy go went crazy using it? The guy who was Kramer in Seinfield. That's when it's used wrong. I haven't heard a white comedian use it for humor. I've seen a brown comedian use it. And there were some black people as his audience and they didin't mind. Some people don't take it personally. Some do. We just have to learn how to use it, when to use it, and where to use it. I think. Peace!

Because we've become so stinking politcially correct that white's can't say crap against blacks, even when it's supposed to only be in comedy.

To the person who said whites haven't experienced the opression that the asker has, the asker hasn't experienced opression.

Blacks of long ago were opressed, not those of today. Yes, some blacks today may experience racism & prejudice, but that's far from opression.

most of them dont do it right. They dont tell the racial joke well, maybe due to concern about being politically correct, i dont know. Folks like Fat Ralphie from Last comic standing get laughs when talking about blacks but then he lived among them and understands their humor. Black comics have a unique method of finding the comedy in the pain and tragedy that speaks to many races. I think the "black expereince" (u know what i mean) has given them the advantage in "masking" injustices and pain and molding it into comic material. Most blacks are social comics. Most whites are observational comics.

I've wondered that myself. Although Dave Chappelle is pretty much of an "equal opportunity" comedian. He's not afraid to take pokes at either ethnicity...and he's funny as hell! He still maintains a level of respect with his humor and I think that's the key.

I see what you are saying and I don't understand that. I love the humor, but if I were a comedian and made a joke about your race, I would probably get my *** kicked. I wonder why it seems to be a one way road.

i think its less about black and white, and more about peoples intentions. if u make a joke about a race and u mean it to be poking fun in a friendly way, than the intentions are gud, but if u mean to be hurtful, or even if u kno it might hurt someone, the intention isnt gud, and its wrong. i think everee situation is differant, and i usually find that it depends on the comedian and the attitude they take rather than their race that determines if im offended or not.
i think people shud respect and love each other, and then they cen poke fun with out hurting feelings, a joke is a joke, if they mean it to hurt someone, or to force their opinons, than its not a joke anymore..and everee one shud be offended.

I guess because of the history we all have. Its not about sense of humor at all. If someone came up to me and called me the "W" word(no such thing, ha ha) I would not be upset or insulted and it would not affect me in any way. Not so the other way around.

Because the issue of racism is such a huge problem that anything said by a caucasion that could be negative towards the african americans, especially on national tv, could cause a number of problems for that caucasion comedian.
