It really depends on the definition of a virus, but in general one can write a virus in pretty much any language or framework that can access the local resources of the system. So yes, you can write a virus in Java or .NET.

So what if you don't get a pointer? A virus is just computer code that does something bad, it is just computer code.

Any way, these 'seniors' don't sound very senior! What are they seniors in?

Seriously, what is the point of making a virus, if you didn't realize the answer to the question you asked, you will probably get caught really quickly, and then face a couple of years in prison/community service.

Bye, don't write a virus!

Yeah, you can write a virus in any programming language practically. But why would you want to?

I don't understand - why would you want to create a virus? I think your seniors are pulling your leg....learn how to eradicate a virus. That would be productive and you'd feel good about it.
