got an intrusion from h--- only people that have heard of it is yahoo it came with their ie7 upgrade no other sec. provider has ever heared of it yahoo says they coulde get rid of it for $200+ i had to recover&format should i be POed at y.hoo im starting to have bad ideas about them they can sell all the email adresses they want but can i trust my own provider not to infect my system sure seems funny

Couple of thoughts. I don't think Yahoo would deliberately infect people with any kind of malware. It would be a public relations nightmare. They'd probably lose half their customers within the first 48 hrs of this being made public and they'd be out of business within another 48 hrs.

Second thought: if no one else has even heard about this malware, then Yahoo should fix it for free -- especially if it was from their link to IE7 upgrade. Here's what I'd suggest:

1. Call Yahoo Customer Service toll-free at 1-866-322-9266. Ask them what you're supposed to do since it was the Yahoo link to IE7 that got you infected. If they refer you back to Tech Support (1-877-722-3755) ask Customer Service for some kind of reference number or case number and/or the name of the person you're talking with. You want to keep a paper trail of information.
2. Visit with the Microsoft IE7 support folks and ask for their advice.
